EFFLUENT WATCH

Evidence first. Inference carefully.

Effluent Watch is a working research pilot for industrial account review. It is not a compliance service, an equipment recommendation or a verified sales-lead list.

Coverage

The workspace shows the actual imported count: a limited Ohio food-processing sample, with BOD, total suspended solids and ammonia-nitrogen series where EPA publishes them. The collector begins with six verified poultry/meat facilities and a bounded discovery of dairy, meat and food-processing companies. Not every site has every parameter or period. This is not a complete Ohio register.

How records arrive

The collector reads EPA ECHO facility discovery and effluent-chart services. Complete successful responses form the published dataset; a failed run retains the last complete version. Source retrieval more than 48 hours old is labelled in the workspace. The public EPA data commonly refresh weekly, while individual facility reporting periods vary. Retrieval date and observation date are displayed separately.

Raw source snapshots are retained privately for reconstruction. Public records contain business names, city/state, permits and selected measurement evidence. We do not collect private contact lists. A first import creates a baseline. Later successful imports can identify added observations, corrected records or source records no longer present. “New” means newly observed by this collector, not necessarily a newly occurring event.

Comparison rules

The comparison stays within the exact source row and preserves units, statistical basis, qualifiers and monitoring location. Null or qualified observations remain explicit. Without a numeric limit there is no exceedance label. Raw-influent records are not compared with effluent limits. Source-reported event codes are separate from calculated comparisons.

Your review is local

Watchlists, review status, notes and follow-up dates remain in this browser's local storage. They do not sync between devices. Report and calendar exports contain the notes you choose to write. Export them before clearing browser data. Calendar dates are your follow-up reminders, never regulatory deadlines.

Pilot availability

The current workspace is free and needs no account. A paid pilot is planned at USD 49 for four weeks. It is not yet available. Payments, paid subscriptions and scheduled customer email delivery are unavailable. No revenue or customer adoption is claimed.

Sources and limitations

Data: US EPA ECHO web services and ICIS-NPDES public datasets. Review the EPA data licensing information and effluent chart documentation. Source data may be incomplete, delayed or corrected. Confirm material decisions with the original source and appropriate professional judgment.
